I came up with 141 different social networking sites. I am familiar with about 25% of them. I did a little research on the site (Faceparty.com) and it seems to be just like a myspace type site but with more of a sexual tone to it seeing how everyone profile i looked at had tons of revealing pictures a personal info up. It is mainly used in the U.K.. My personal uses of Social Networking are myspace and facebook. I am not on constantly like most people but i go on a few times a week. They have never got me in trouble and never really helped me unless asking what the homework was in a class and someone responded.

Movies

I would say my favorite movie of 2009 would have to be Watchmen. A lot of casual movie goers did not like this movie because they aren't fans of the graphic novel and this really caters to those fans. The level of detail that zack snyder puts into his movies is crazy. You can literally open the book up and see exact frames from the book in the movie and that is why i chose it as one of my favorites for the year.

My Magazine

Name: Flux

Concept: My Magazine is a combination of Movies and Video games. Where the reader will get a chance to read the more in depth aspects of both Mediums. For instance Behind the scenes, what tech they use, why actors were drawn to there roles, Story synopsis, and there will even be a dvd included with all the latest trailers for both games and movies.

Readers: My readers will be people who love both mediums and ranging from 15-35 yrs of age.

Competition: Entertainment weekly and playstation and xbox magazines

Five Premier articles: The cross between games and movies, New tech for both, How actors play there roles in these mediums,How has these industry changed over the years, and NPD and Box office Charts.

Cover: The Cover will have the title in big bold letters in red with black trim and one side of the cover will have game characters and on the other movie characters.

Books

1) The Da vinci Code: This book had a somewhat of a weird impact on me because after i read it i had this big conspiracy theory phase where i would look into a lot of unexplained things and try to piece things together.

2) The Killing joke: This was a graphic novel that made me want to write a graphic novel of my own and i am still writing the story to this day.

3) Shattered Glass: This was one of the first books i ever read on my own without it being an assigned book in class

Media Impact

I would conduct a study on how Video Games affect the youth in America by interviewing them on there status before they play games and after. I would also watch as the subject plays the game to see if any violent tendencies appear during the playing of the game such as imitating fighting or vulgar language. After that is done i would interview the parents to see if any habits have developed since the purchase of the violent game.

Media Autobiography

I would say that majority of my life has been driven by media. Growing up i was very active in certain sports but if any new shows or movies would have came out i would drop everything just to go see them. If i could watch it or listen to it then it was my type of media. On the other hand if i had to read it then there was a good chance i wouldn't acknowledge it. So to start off Books, Newspapers, and Magazines were not to high priority on my list of media. I am a very visual person and like to see things in motion instead of imagining what it looks like in a book. As for newspaper and magazines i didn't bother much with those because i didn't really care to much for the new growing up and magazines were not really on my radar until later in life. On the other hand Movies, T.V, and Music/Radio were a very big part of my life and pretty much shaped me into the person i am today. Growing up i was a huge horror and action movie fan and watched as many movies as i could throughout my life. I was so into movies that when i was young i used to write movie scripts in my free time because i loved the idea of my stories coming to life on the big screen. I even went as far as making movies with some friends of mine when we were in middle school and now i am majoring in film at DeAnza. T.V. has taught me a lot in life. In some ways it was like a home school device for me because of the fact i am a visual learner and i watch a lot of discovery and history channel. My little nuggets of info in certain areas comes from me watching television. To wrap things up i going to end with Music/Radio and how it has had an impact on me. I think one of the biggest things it has changed in me is the way i speak. I am a heavy listener of rap and hip hop which has a plethora of slang in it. So in turn listening to this type of music has had a impact on my speech and how often i use slang. Well in a nut shell that is just a little of how Media has made me who i am.
